Position Overview:

The Head of Development at Fireframe will play a pivotal role in shaping the studio's cinematic future. This individual will be responsible for conceptualizing, developing, and overseeing a robust IP slate from the ground up, utilizing a few existing original IPs as foundational elements. This role is central to the studio's ambition to create compelling narratives with global appeal and market potential that leverage Fireframe's unique virtual production capabilities, ensuring that projects align with the studio's innovative ethos and market objectives.

The slate overview:

Fireframe originals slate is comprised of IP’s that:

  • Have cross-media potential, meaning that the IP has potential beyond one media platform, e.g. a film can be made into a game or vice versa. 

  • Appeal to global audiences, create phenomena, and will be remembered through generations.

  • Are scalable, meaning that they possess potential for sequels and follow up seasons and spin-offs.

  • Are built around engaging worlds and captivating characters.

  • Are made with creatives and talent that embrace Fireframe’s virtual production first vision of filmmaking.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own the Fireframe originals IP slate and its development process.

  • Spearhead the development of an engaging and marketable cross-media IP slate, ensuring a cohesive and innovative lineup of projects.

  • Develop a solid IP incubation process that helps to make the IP development predictable and mitigates the uncertainties and risks commonly present in the film industry.

  • Collaborate closely with creative teams, writers, directors, and other stakeholders to develop and refine project visions and execution strategies.

  • Foster and maintain relationships with key industry players, including creatives, producers, and other studios, to enhance collaboration opportunities and studio reputation.

  • Initiate and lead the creation of original IP in concert with other executives and creative talents, aligning new content with Fireframe's strategic and artistic goals.

  • Oversee that productions get developed and moved to production on time according to the production schedule

  • Oversee all stages of film production, from initial concept to final delivery, ensuring projects adhere to the studio's high standards of creativity and technical excellence.

  • Champion the studio's culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence, contributing to a dynamic and forward-thinking work environment.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proven knowledge of the film industry with a track record of successful project management and film development.

  • Demonstrated creative vision and storytelling acumen, with the ability to conceptualize and articulate compelling narratives.

  • Strong network within the film industry, with established connections to key creatives, producers, and studios.

  • Exceptional leadership and communication skills, capable of inspiring teams and managing diverse creative talents.

  • Strategic thinker with the ability to balance creative aspirations with practical production and market considerations.

Desired Experience:

  • Extensive experience in original IP slate development, with a portfolio that includes the successful production of notable films.

  • Familiarity with or willingness to learn virtual production techniques and a keen interest in leveraging technology to enhance storytelling.

  • Cross-Media Production Experience and understanding of how different media can converge and how storytelling techniques vary across platforms.

  • Demonstrated understanding of global market trends, distribution channels, and co-production opportunities that can benefit the development and success of an IP slate aimed at international audiences.

  • Experience in strategic planning, market analysis, and forecasting in the entertainment industry to anticipate market shifts and position the studio's slate for success.
